Creighton Bluejays: GFX Package
Logo Loop - Mainboard
We leaned into a liquid glass concept that embraced 3D glass elements and refractions to make the Bluejay's take on glassmorphism. The main visual anchors included custom 3D elements that react and reflect with the background, gradients to add depth, and a primarily blue color-scheme accented by various micro-text animations.
My Role:
Lead Motion Designer
Interacted with the Creighton design team to align on their vision for creative and gameday experience
Crafted styleframes by taking their logos and brand assets and creating a dynamic glassmorphism aesthetic
Set up the all-screen layouts to aid with understanding venue specs and create optimal designs for their 15+ screens throughout their venue
Built the custom 3D glass workflow to create scalable and versatile glass assets native in after effects
Animated key prompts, setting motion theory to ensure consistent design language throughout the build (Logo Loop, Jays Win, PlayerID, Matchup, Text Hold)
Engineered the advanced rigging required to make our prompts editable
Filmed video breakdowns for how to update templates for their internal teams
Select Prompts
PlayerID - Mainboard
This template features customizable slots for the name, number, position, hometown, social handle and multiple player video shots.
PlayerID - Ae Template
Showcases how the AE Template adapts as various team inputs change.
Jays Win - Venue Mockup
This mockup showcases how for their new 360 mainboard we animated select prompts to be fully seamless around the mainboard. This required a special approach to ensure no edge was visible from any angle, particularly when paired with the complexity of the animation.
Matchup - All Screens
For each game on the schedule, we built a complex template that could scale across their 6 different inputs like team names and logos. Notably, the glass “gameday” text reflects the logos of the day’s matchup.
Text Hold - All Screens
Having the flexibility to quickly throw up different text to help welcome guests or contextualize a key moment of the game is helpful in a run of show. This template flexed to 10+ different phrases and provided them future flexibility for whenever they quickly needed a custom takeover of their arena for recruiting or a special event.
