Hillsboro Hops: GFX Package
Hops Win - Mainboard
To align with a newly built ballpark, the Hillsboro Hops contacted me to build a full new suite of graphics to help modernize their gameday experience. This package leaned into the northwest geography in the area with typographical line elements built around the shape of the logo. From this, I found we could utilize these in a variety of different ways: pulsing the logo outline, placing them in as background elements, or matting into text. I created a variety of use-cases where the topography can be utilized to help reinforce sound for a noise meter or crowd prompts. I paired it with paper textures and a gridded dot pattern (made of the Hops logo instead of an actual dot) to help shift it to feel more like a blueprint. The line halftone also helps it feel like a blueprint whether it’s in the background or placed inside text. With the new stadium construction now complete, I felt this was the perfect visual direction heading into their 2026 season.

Growing up in Oregon, I was in the area when the Hillsboro Hops were first created. When I got older, some of my first jobs were with the Hops. Later, I became a front office intern, specializing in social media and graphic design. To see how far the organization has grown over the years is awesome, and I’m quite grateful to continue to get to play a small part in the gameday experience throughout the years.
