Baltimore Orioles: GFX Package
Logo Loop - Mainboard
Camden Yards will transform into a whole new experience with this City Connect inspired graphic package exclusively used when they wear these uniforms on Friday nights. Based on their latest City Connect 2.0 jersey, this graphic package revolves around a flat 2D collage aesthetic that fully embraces and pays homage to Camden Yards and the heritage surrounding this historic brand. Based on the ballpark and the surrounding city, the main design motifs are brick, marble, iron and various local building textures. In addition, we selectively incorporated a little halftone, multitude of historic logos and assets and stacked grunge elements throughout to help reinforce the collage and layered aspect of the design. The motion emulated cut-and-paste, frame-choppy animation by utilizing posterize time and various subtle wiggles on different elements.
My role as Lead Motion Designer consisted of interacting with the Orioles design team, taking their City Connect 2.0 logos and design assets and translating them into styleframes that align with the campaign, setting up the venue all-screens to aid with understanding Oriole Park at Camden Yards’ screen layout, animating key prompts (logo loop, playerID, matchup, text hold), and overseeing additional animators by providing feedback and direction on their animations (score, play, win).

MatchupID - Mainboard
For each game on the schedule we built a complex template that could scale across their 7 different inputs like team names, logos, and a potential sponsor placement.

Text Hold - All Screens
Having the flexibility to quickly throw up different text to help lead into a segment or moment of the game is helpful in a run of show. This template flexed to over 30 different phrases and featured multiple different backgrounds and logo combinations to keep the visual fresh as it's used throughout the game.
